Naiyar Azam is a core team member of IREST. He is a seasoned communication, media, and governance professional with over 15 years of experience. Naiyar has been working across ministries, Government of India, international development organisations, public health programmes, GIZ, FHI, and media institutions in India. He specialises in strategic communication, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, social mobilization, business development, and public outreach. He worked extensively in health promotion, governance, social development, and behaviour change communication at national and state level. Naiyar was a member of the 12th Plan-Sub-Committee on Promoting Healthy Lifestyle and played an instrumental role in conceptualizing and designing the flagship awareness programme “Swasth Bharat” under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Naiyar has completed Master’s degree in Human Rights & Duties Education and PG Diploma in Development Communication from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. He has contributed social advocacy through documentaries, articles, reports, and campaigns. Naiyar is widely recognised for his leadership, creativity, and commitment to public awareness, social inclusion, and community empowerment initiatives across India.
