Altab Khan is an educationist cum social worker, hailed from the North Eastern state of Manipur. He has served more than 18 years to the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. Altab had been an overwhelming expert in the field of educational planning & appraisal, monitoring & evaluation, research and project management. His experience is also widely known for remarkable contribution towards developing convergence for the entire programme and projects across India under various schemes notably Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Girls Education Programme, NSCBAV, Participation of development sector in education project, and particularly ‘Samagra Shiksha.
Altab Khan has been known for his management and administrative skills in several private sector and social organizations at national level such as Salam Balak Trust and Rajiv Gandhi Foundation etc. He is the man of efficient coordination and excellent advocacy in the field of social causes and in an emergency project implementation. He was recently involved in several activities that served to the displaced and deprived people who have been largely affected by the recent civil strife that occurred in the state of Manipur. He was known for his excellent contribution and coordination in implementing CSR project through convergence with the state government and CSOs in the state of Manipur that was entirely dedicated for the deprived and deplorable inmates in the Relief Camps.

He has a master’s degree in Geography and attained his Honours degree in the same subject from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Altab’s role at IREST involves educational planning, coordination, advocacy and rural development.
