Abu Hafiz is one of the Treasurer of IREST with more than 8 years’ experience in education and social development sector. He is expert in project management, education policy implementation, child protection, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), early childhood care and education (ECCE) and community mobilization. His professional journey reflects a deep commitment towards innovative pedagogical approaches, social and emotional learning (SEL), life skills education, improving learning outcomes for vulnerable children, inclusive and child-centric development practices across diverse socio-economic contexts.
Hafiz worked as a Consultant with the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India to implement Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission. He has provided technical support to States/UTs, coordinated with NCERT, NCTE, and SCERTs; and contributed to the development of blended learning materials. Hafiz has also played an important role in conducting Vidya Pravesh evaluation in 6 States/UTs to assess the effectiveness of the programme and also played a major role in organizing the G20 Education Working Group meetings. He worked with BOSCO-UNHCR as a coordinator of Community Mobilization towards refugee education and gender sensitization. He was a Child Protection Fellow at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). In 2016, Hafiz obtained Master degree in Social Work (MSW) from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
